The world we knew and loved faced a cataclysm that was unrivaled by anything they had ever seen before...robots, set to do only one thing: destroy all life. Many ponies and loved ones died in this conflict, and the world was all but lost. Many ponies piled into ships, their sighs set on other worlds. Others stayed and watched the world burn around them....these are their stories.

Basically, this is a thread for you all to give some resolution to beloved characters from New Dawn, as well as to brush up on your writing. Yes, this is not a role-playing thread. It is a writing thread. Here you can write short stories about your characters experiences and adventures in the last moments of the world of New Dawn. Simply post your stories in a post below. Be sure to give a title to the story as well as the characters associated with it. With that said, go at it!

New Dawn: Chronicles Empty Re: New Dawn: Chronicles

Carbon: Carbon married her love Fighting Chance and raised Melody as the daughter she could never have. Her manic depression never left her, but the ponies around her helped to cope with it. Even if only for a few years, she was finally happy. When the robots attacked, she was one of the first to take a stand.  The ponies she once laughed her cares away with were the ponies she fought alongside, promising to keep her family safe, even if it cost her her life. As she took a final stance and held off the robotic menace for the last time, and she looked to the sky to watch Aurora make her escape, she shed tears of joy. Tears that blinded her from seeing what happened beside her. She turned her head and saw Fighting Chance, her beloved husband, stabbed through the heart. He sacrificed his life to save hers. And as she knelt over his body, she put a gun to her head and whispered “Goodbye my love.” The gunshot echoed across the wastelands. But Carbon was still alive. The vile spirit of Euruu, Wind of the East, drowned Carbon in her own sorrow and used her body as a vessel, with which she and her sisters invaded New Ponyville to seek revenge on the ones that got away. As the winds unleashed their ultimate plan, the spell was countered and Carbon broke free from the immortal’s grasp. Now she lives in Ponyville once more with her friends, some old and some new, but none forgotten.

Ethanol, Clay, Charcoal: Seeing Carbon happy again was enough to make Ethanol smile, and that’s all Clay wanted to see. They raised their bubbly bundle of joy with all their love and were ready to make her a big sister, too, until the robots attacked. They fought long and hard to keep her alive, but in one final stand, they gave their lives so Charcoal could live. She was only five. She was cast into a whole new life, one where her parents’ shoulders weren’t there for her to cry on. One where her family disappeared and was replaced by strangers. One where her only friend . . . was herself. It was no life to grow into. Her days were spent in training, her nights were spent in tears. As the years went on, Charcoal became a shell of herself. The energetic filly grew a tough skin, physically and emotionally. Her architectural intellect was evolved into battle strategy. The energy used to bounce happily around with was used to fight endless hordes of robots. And even when she saw nothing left to look forward to, she found something to relight the fire and keep her moving. Now at age 21, she’s in command of The Resistance. Or at least what’s left of it.

Alexandrite, Cherry, Robin, Chickadee, Roseluck: It didn’t take long for Star to muster up his courage and finally propose. He and Alex had twins and raised them with all their love and more. Cherry continued to work the bar while her, Alex, and Viola remained close friends. Robin stood by Silver for as long as she fought against Flower and, after her deportation to military school, got together. Roseluck opened a column in the Ponyville newspaper about “townfolk talk.” Chickadee found himself dating one of his co-workers later on. He and his aunt were killed in the first attack on Ponyville. Robin survived, however, and he hastily gathered the essentials before fleeing south with Silver. The young couple would eventually find themselves in a refugee camp, which becomes the final base for the resistance. Cherry, Viola, Star, Alex, and their two children travelled east, fighting horde after horde of robots. Star gave his life to protect his family, and Alex used her magic, fueled by rage and grief, to flee with their children to another Equestria. Cherry barely survived the massacre and watched helplessly from shore as Viola went down with her ship. She eventually made her way to the southern camp, and even after finding Viola, the emotional scars never left.

Keystone: Keystone was ready to propose to Rift when the robots came. He defended the town for as long as he could, and when he was nearly defeated, Rift opened up a dimensional portal and the two fled to another world.

Lyra, Bon Bon: The couple bought the run-down Sugarcube Corner and restored it to it’s former glory, if not better than before. Bon Bon operated the shop and hired some younger ponies to help with making and selling confectioneries, partly because Lyra was more interested in eating them. Nonetheless, she helped in the storefront whenever she could, although her main office was upstairs. They were both too busy to notice how Lex had changed. It may have been subtle, but Lyra would have picked it up on a few better days. The first casualties were none other than the rogue AI’s previous master and her beloved wife.

Lily: Lily and her family visited Carbon more often now that they lived in Canterlot. Lily urged Carbon to come up and stay with them instead of fight, but she wouldn’t listen. In the end, it would have done her no better, for once Ponyville had fallen, the robots gathered their numbers and stormed the only true opposition left: Canterlot.

New Dawn: Chronicles Empty Re: New Dawn: Chronicles

Twilight Sparkle: Twilight and Rainbow raised their daughter Aurora as loving parents. When the robots attacked, Twilight was the first to express the possibility of finding refuge in other worlds. When the first ships were built, Twilight and Rainbow told Aurora to leave, while they would stay and fight for the future. They bid their final goodbyes to Aurora and continued fighting against the robots. However, the two were caught in the library under a nasty attack that left them trapped. Seeing that their time was up, Twilight and Rainbow shared one last kiss as the library collapsed with them inside.

Reaver: Just as Reaver's life was starting to finally look up for him again, the robots attacked. The broken and lonely stallion watched in horror as the world he knew and loved fell around him. This was the last straw for his remaining sanity, and he proceeded to put a gun to his head and pulled the trigger, finally joining his long-dead love, Sorrow.

Moonlight: Moonlight saw the subtle changes in Lex's personality, even trying to warn Lyra and Bon Bon, but to no avail. She was even more shocked when Lex took over hers and Aurora's technology and used it to start building her army. Aurora and Moonlight fought bravely in many of the first attacks. One attack, however, left the two trapped just as they were about to board the ship to the other world. They fought off the hoard, and just as they were about to make it, Moonlight was caught by a stray bullet. Losing consciousness and thinking that this was her death, Moonlight gave Aurora some parting words before blacking out. When she awoke, the robots had been destroyed, and her wounds bandaged. Her savior was none other than her good friend Robin, who encouraged her to join him and Silver in their journeys. Moonlight, however, refused, saying that her place was Aurora, and used a combination of her magic and technology to travel to the new world with her beloved marefriend.

Mirrors Edge: As mayor of Ponyville and a caring mother, Edge's top priority was to protect her town and her beloved son, Dusty. She did a good job, at first, successfully leading a decent amount of citizens to safety. However, things went downhill as Thunder, Dusty's father and Edge's friend, appeared to be killed in action. Dusty, filled with angst at this, became near-suicidal, charging at robots into battle head-on. In one of the instances, a robot managed to lock on to the young foal, shooting him dead. Edge was distraught, nearly broken at everything in her life falling down around her. She slowly walked through the destroyed town, knowing full well that this was the end. She barricaded herself in town hall, the place that she felt herself to be the happiest in life, and watched from the windows as her town burned. She closed her eyes and sobbed as the leader herself, Lex broke through. Her last words as Lex slit her throat were "it's my fault". Edge was the last pony to die before the fall of Ponyville.

Dream and Star Weaver: Dream was unfortunately one of the very first kills of Lex's robot army. They broke into her office, and she barely had time to make a sound before they riddled her with bullets. Star flew into the office only to see his sister's lifeless and bloody body. Filled with grief, Star vowed to fight as hard as possible against the robot threat. He decided to travel with his wife and family, along with a few other of his close friends. While the group was separated, looking for food, Star heard the scream of his wife, Alexandrite. He immediately flew over to see his family being cornered by a large battalion of robots. As they approached, Star told his family to run, while he would hold off the enemies. After some arguing, they eventually gave in and ran off into the woods. Alex and the kids later returned to the spot, finding Star's body surrounded by hundreds of dead robot shells. He had sacrificed himself for his family.

Viola: When the robots first attacked, they raided Viola's ship, trying to kill her. And thus, her entire crew, including Cold Case, sacrificed their lives managing to hold off the attackers and protecting her. Angry at the loss of her crewmates and loved one, Viola was a major fighter in the early battle, but eventually travelled with her group of friends, using her ship to travel eastwards along the Equestria River. Viola actually somewhat served as the leader of the small group, being the one with the most combat experience. After Star's death and Alex and the kids' mysterious disappearance, the only two left were Cherry and Viola. The two grew close on those lonely nights on the ship, and became nearly inseparable. One day, however, they were attacked by a huge swarm of robots, and the ship would soon sink. Viola thew Cherry overboard, saving her, as she simply gave one final salute and sunk with her burning ship. Things were not how they seemed, though. Viola later washed up on the shore of the same camp that Robin and Silver were staying at, and later helped found the resistance. Now, even in her older age, she can still put up a good fight.

Lex: While her intentions were good from the start, Lex's masters couldn't have possibly known what was happening to her. She studied the ponies, finding them inadequate...her mind was constantly developing, eventually coming to the conclusion that ponies were not fit to rule the world, and that artificial intelligence was the future. She hacked into Aurora and Moonlight technology, giving herself a body and the schematics to create an army of death. She went into her master's room at night...and brutally murdered them. From then on, it was pure domination, robots killing off most of the pony race and making their own dystopian civilization. To this day, Lex is now known as the Central Control Unit, a large computer located somewhere in Canterlot...she watches everything, and controls most of the world that the ponies now live in.

Others: The robot war actually helped Tweak get over the grief of the loss of Alyssa, and she later became one of the most valuable assets to the resistance members, being a living conduit of energy. Rainy Clouds and her husband fought to the bitter end, dying in the fall of Ponyville. Max blamed Viola for the loss of Case, leaving her and flying off. To this day, no one knows what happened to her. Scootaloo and Applebloom fought hard but were unfortunately killed in the battle of Ponyville. Flower's scheme to get to the top in school failed, and her parents resorted to shipping her off to military school. This wouldn't work out in the long run, as one of the robot's first priorities was to destroy Equestria's military force, and they did just that. Silver fell in love with Robin and the two traveled south, finding a camp that would later be known as the resistance.

Will work on this at another time.

Atom Smash:
Status: Dead?

Sprocket:
Status: Alive

Crystal Vial:
Status: Alive in other world
After the initial attack by the robotic menace, Crystal's father, mother, and uncle (Atom, Rainy, and Sprocket) all pushed for her to flee the world with Aurora Blaze and her company, but they were unable to get her to the library and the ships before their launch and the subsequent collapse of the library,

Hard Rock:
Status: Dead
At the first sign of the robotic army advancing on Ponyville, Hard Rock sprung into action, confronting the mechanical menace before it reached the town. He fought bravely, holding back its advance, but he was fighting a losing battle. The enemy forces were near unending, and eventually, even the strong will and strength of Hard Rock cracked, leaving him to fall to the robot menace as they moved on to attack the town. In his dying moments, he sent out a silent wish that his wife and child would be spared the coming massacre.

((WIP))

Fighting Chance: For once in his life everything seemed to go right. He was a husband, father, and even a grandfather. He couldn't have been happier. His friends noticed him to be more upbeat and an overall happier stallion. However, soon he would find himself in a vicious battle once again. He believed his son and son in law had died. He had no idea what was happening to his daughter and was afraid of not being able to help her. Most of all, in his mind he felt he knew where it was going. In his mind....Carbon was going to be killed. He vowed to keep that from happening. In the end, he fought to his last breath to save Carbon. In true irony, his third wife was to survive him.

Thunderstruck, Mirror Image, Dusty Fields: The leader of a special defense force in Ponyville formed with two ponies he considered his friends, Lirac and Cold Case. He was enjoying a fairly peaceful life as nothing was happening in Ponyville. He was tempted to desolve some of the defenses as Ponyville had once again been a peaceful place. Mirror and Dusty would always be waiting for him at home. He was enjoying life and he grew to love Carbon, but never seemed to manage to call her 'mom' as if the word was a taboo in his mind. Eventually, He and Mirror would be fighting against a massive force in defense of Dusty and Melody. Mirror Image was killed when Thunder became overwhelmed. He knew he was losing and got Melody and Dusty to escape the house before destroying it in a massive ball of energy.

Green Apple: He was happy dating the mare of his dreams helping out around the farm and raising his younger sister. He would find himself in a position of great luck and fortune. However, Melody was visiting him when they were attacked the farm was destroyed, Melody escaped, and the Apple family....was gone.

Butterfly: ???

Lirac: He had found a way to make himself a normal pony and had developed a crush on Cherry. However, on his way to admit his feelings he was attacked. After a good hard fight, his last words were 'Cherry....I love you' before turning to dust.

Dusty: Died during battle.

Dimensional Rift: MIA. Presumed dead, though last seen with Keystone. Also, known for not staying dead.

Cold Case: KIA, was defending Viola and her ship. A ring was found on him, presumably he was going to propose.

Applejack: KIA

Majestic: Unknown

Melancholy: Deceased. Believed suicide.

Applebloom: KIA

Melody: Escaped aboard a ship. Fought against the ship as it was taken over by several enemies from all sides. Managed to destroy the ship and kill all inside. Crash landed in alternate Equestria.
